How is an underfloor heating system designed?
The design starts by calculating the thermal requirements of each room. Then, the rooms are divided so that the temperature can be regulated separately. The pipes are sized and laid in the floor (usually in a spiral pattern). The system operates at a low temperature with manifolds for distribution. Finally, adjustments and checks are carried out to ensure comfort and efficiency.
How do I choose the most suitable heating system for my home?
The choice is made by first evaluating the characteristics of the house, such as insulation and size. Then, the climate of the area and how cold it gets in winter are considered.
It is also important to understand how much you want to spend and how much you want to save over time. Various systems (boiler, heat pump, etc.) are compared based on efficiency. Finally, the one that guarantees comfort, low consumption, and ease of management is chosen.
How often should plumbing and heating system maintenance be performed?
Maintenance should be performed at least once a year. It serves to check that everything is working correctly and safely. Some checks, such as those for the boiler, are mandatory by law. Regular maintenance helps reduce consumption and prevent breakdowns. This way, the system lasts longer and works better over time.
Is it cost-effective to install a heat pump?
Yes, it is cost-effective, especially in well-insulated homes. It allows for lower energy consumption compared to traditional systems. It works best with low-temperature systems, such as radiant underfloor heating. The initial cost is higher, but it is recovered over time through savings. Furthermore, it is a more ecological and sustainable solution.
What incentives or tax deductions are available for the systems?
Incentives primarily favor modern and ecological systems, such as heat pumps or hybrid systems. Traditional gas boilers alone are no longer incentivized as they were in the past.
The main one is the Ecobonus, which allows for a deduction of up to 50% for improving energy efficiency (e.g., heat pumps). (Climatic)
There is also the Renovation Bonus, also up to 50%, for work on systems inside the home. (Climatic)
An alternative is the Conto Termico, which provides a direct refund of up to 65% of the expenditure. (SAIT - Andrea Frigo)
